IFCF has donated £50K to to support the British Red Cross Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal

On 6th February two huge earthquakes and a series of aftershocks hit Turkey, Syria and the surrounding region, killing thousands of people and causing widespread destruction. IFCF has donated £50,000 to the British Red Cross Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal’ to assist with distributing essentials such as food, water, blankets and temporary shelters to support survivors who spent the night outside in freezing temperatures.

Chairman of the Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation , Richard Walker:

“The whole team at Iceland Foods have watched the devastating impact of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria unfold over the past days, and all our thoughts are with those who have been affected, and those who will continue to be affected by this awful event. Our ‘Doing it Right’ mantra has guided the Iceland business for over 50 years, so we felt compelled to help where we can by offering a donation in support of the enormous relief effort.”

British Red Cross Chief Executive Mike Adamson said:

“The scale of destruction caused by these earthquakes has been devastating. The priority right now is rescuing people from the rubble. Your donations will help search-and-rescue missions on the ground — and provide vital aid to those who need it most. We thank Sun readers for your kind support.
