At Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation, we believe strong communities and a healthy planet go hand in hand. That’s why we invest in partnerships that drive environmental action and support children in their earliest years.
From supporting the UK’s biggest clean‑up movement with Surfers Against Sewage to helping restore nature locally, we’re proud to work with organisations that share our values.
IFCF is proud to partner with The Orchard Project in a three‑year national initiative to create and restore community orchards across the UK. By co‑funding new orchard sites and supporting the charity’s schools programme, the partnership will deliver green spaces, fresh fruit and hands‑on outdoor learning for children, families and local communities.
Together, we’re boosting biodiversity, creating inspiring outdoor spaces and building healthier, more resilient communities for the next generation.
Since 2019, our enduring partnership with Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) has united tens of thousands of volunteers across the UK in a shared mission to tackle plastic pollution and reconnect communities with nature.
From supporting landmark clean-up events like the Big Spring Beach Clean – which mobilised over 45,000 people to remove 72 tonnes of waste – to leading the nationwide Million Mile Clean, IFCF has helped drive one of the UK’s largest environmental movements. Together, we’ve championed grassroots action, celebrated change-makers through the Plastic Free Awards, and inspired corporate teams to roll up their sleeves and lead by example.
IFCF is proud to partner with The Orchard Project in a three‑year national initiative to create and restore community orchards across the UK.
Through co‑funding new orchard sites and supporting the charity’s schools programme, the partnership will bring much‑needed green spaces, fresh fruit and hands‑on outdoor learning to children, families and local residents.
Together, we’re helping schools develop inspiring outdoor classrooms, boosting local biodiversity, and creating welcoming community spaces that encourage connection with nature. This collaboration strengthens our commitment to environmental action, children’s wellbeing and building healthier, more resilient communities for the next generation.
Our partnership with Wildlife Trusts Wales is helping communities across Wales reconnect with nature through the restoration of vital peatlands.
These landscapes don’t just store carbon and support wildlife – they protect homes from flooding, clean our water, and offer spaces for people to thrive. By backing plans to restore all Welsh peatlands by 2030, IFCF is investing in a greener, safer future for local families and the environment they depend on.
Backyard Nature was a bold national campaign that empowered children to protect nature on their doorstep—whether in a garden, a balcony, or a city street.
Sparked by the passion of the Eco Emeralds, a group of young environmentalists from Liverpool, the campaign was funded by the Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation and grown by Semble, the UK’s leading grassroots community organisation. Together, they inspired over 750,000 hours of nature engagement, distributed hundreds of thousands of bug hotels and wildflower seed balls, and helped families across the UK become proud guardians of their own patch of nature.
