Secret Santa

In 2020, we turned every one of our 28,000 colleagues into a Secret Santa, donating £280,000 – £10 on behalf of each team member. This heartfelt gesture provided essentials for 6,811 children, ensuring they had access to warm clothing, nourishing food, and festive cheer during a challenging winter.

Iceland Winter Crisis Fund

In 2022, we deepened our commitment by nominating Action for Children as our lead charity partner and created the Iceland Winter Crisis fund. This initiative delivered emergency financial assistance to families using Action for Children services, helping cover:

Food and utility bills
Baby essentials and clothing
Cleaning products and home learning resources

This support helped ease financial stress and empowered families to provide nutritious meals and a stable environment during the colder months.

In 2022, we renewed our Secret Santa tradition with a further £300,000 donation, reinforcing the Iceland Winter Crisis Fund and extending our reach even further.

Since 2021, our partnership has enabled 6,448 families to receive vital grants, directly supporting 16,174 vulnerable children and young people across the UK.

IFCF’s ‘Boycott Your Bed’ Sleepout

IFCF Trustees Richard Walker and Paul Dhaliwal, alongside Iceland HQ colleagues, took part in Action for Children’s ‘Boycott Your Bed’ campaign by sleeping out in a vast 180-year-old rock cavern at Zip World. Highlights included zip-lining, trampoline nets suspended from the rock face, and lively activities such as a cave rave, silent disco, and meals prepared by Iceland’s Chef Dave Lennox.

Earlier in the day, children supported by Action for Children joined in the fun, enjoying the Titan zipline and Bounce Below trampolines.

The event raised £40,000, helping IFCF reach its £1 million donation milestone for Action for Children. The campaign also gained significant media traction, with Zip World’s TikTok ‘Cave Rave’ video surpassing 2.5 million views.

We were also very proud to have been shortlisted for ‘Challenge Event of the Year’ at the Business Charity Awards 2023, recognising the creativity, impact, and collaboration behind our Boycott Your Bed event.

Since 2020, Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation has donated over £1 million to support Action for Children. With 4.2 million children in the UK currently living in poverty, and many more families suffering as we get deeper into the cost-of-living crisis, Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation’s support has been absolutely vital.

Every penny raised has helped support vulnerable children and families through the Crisis Fund, supporting hard-hit families who would otherwise struggle to pay the bills and put food on the table.

Thank you Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation your support is making an incredible difference in children and young people’s lives and having an impact that will last a lifetime.
