About Us

Our foundation

Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation has raised an incredible £38 million to date

The Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation (IFCF) has been supporting good causes since 1973, driven by a deep commitment to making a difference in communities across the UK. In 2013, we gave the Foundation a public face – not only to celebrate the fantastic efforts of our colleagues and customers, but also to make it easier for others to get involved and show their support.

Today, IFCF continues to champion impactful initiatives, amplify real voices, and bring people together to create lasting change.

Where our funds come from

Colleague fundraising

Our incredible fundraising efforts come from every corner of Iceland – from our most senior executives to each of our 1,000 stores, and of course, our amazing customers.

What truly sets us apart is the passion and imagination our colleagues bring to fundraising, embracing everything from skydives and head shaves to raffles and team bike rides – all in proud support of our charity partner.

Iceland’s main fundraising activities are a  charity week in store during the spring, when colleagues across the business rally their teams and engage customers in raising vital funds for our chosen cause. Whether it’s a daring challenge or a community raffle, every activity reflects the heart and spirit of Iceland – united in making a difference.

Pennies

Introduced in 2025, Iceland Foods proudly partnered with fintech charity Pennies to make donating easier than ever. This innovative initiative allows customers to add a small donation at checkout – 10p in Iceland stores and 20p in The Food Warehouse – with every penny going to the Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation (IFCF) to support vital charitable causes.

Launched during Charity Week (10–17 May 2025), the Pennies feature helped raise essential funds through the generosity of our customers. For one week only, donation amounts were doubled, amplifying the impact across our nationwide store network.

We’re also proud to share that Iceland Foods won  the Merchant Impact Award at the Pennies Awards 2025 – a testament to the incredible support from our colleagues, customers, and partners in making a meaningful difference.

Events

Each year, one of the most anticipated highlights in the Iceland calendar is their annual charity golf event – a day that blends friendly competition with powerful purpose. Since its inception, this event has raised over £7 million to support the vital work of IFCF.

Held at a premier golf venue, the day begins with a round of golf that brings together colleagues, suppliers, and supporters from across the UK. As the sun sets, the event continues with an evening of celebration – featuring a lively dinner, entertainment, and a charity auction that never fails to inspire generosity.

We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support and enthusiasm of our supplier community and partners, whose commitment makes this event not only a fundraising success, but a truly memorable and uplifting occasion year after year.

Our trustees

The Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation is registered with the charity commission and has its own group of trustees, chaired by Lord Richard Walker. They listen closely to our colleagues and customers to ensure our giving has impact where it is needed.
